Home Project Description Consortium ChipVision Design Systems AG (CV, Germany)

ChipVision Design Systems AG
, based in Oldenburg, Germany, is a growing venture capital funded EDA SME company with currently 20 employees. It was founded in May 2002 as a private share-holder company as spin-out of OFFIS Systems and Consulting GmbH. CV develops and markets Electronic System Level Design Automation tools in particular for low power design. CV holds a patent on its power optimization technology and has filed several more patents for other aspects of its technologies. ChipVision also contributed to the European funded projects CLEAN: Controlling LEAkage power in NanoCMOS SoCs, 2005-2008; MAP2: Micro-Architectural Power Management: Methods, Algorithms and Prototypic tools, 2006-2008; POET: Power Optimization of Embedded systems, 2001-2005; InTraLed: Industry-driven Training for Low-power European Designers, 2002-2005; and the German funded project LEMOS: Low-Power-Entwurfsmethoden für mobile Systeme, 2003-2006. In most of these projects, ChipVision was leader of the exploitation activities.

Within COMPLEX, ChipVision will contribute to work packages 2 and 3, i.e. research and development of system-level power modeling and system-level power optimization. The developments will be add-ons to ChipVision’s high-level synthesis tool PowerOpt. The new analysis and optimization capabilities will deliver improved high-level optimization flows.
